Pain/numbness in hand(s) due to nerve compression

Ulnar nerve compression in elbow

Also a compression or irritation of the ulnar nerve (nervus ulnaris) will cause problems in your hand, particularly in your little finger and ring finger. The resulting complaints are quite diverse. You may suffer from a tingling and painful sensation in your little finger and part of your ring finger, a reduced sensation in your little finger and ring finger or loss of strength in your hand. Complaints about tingling sensations will pop up constantly and become worse by moving your elbow. Also at night, symptoms are worse.

Surgery?

Surgery aims to release the pinched nerve and avoid new damage in future. This is done by lifting the nerve from the elbow canal and moving it to the inside of the elbow. This procedure is usually carried out under general anaesthesia.
